Secrets About Cellulite

Everywhere you turn around, you seem to read a headline about cellulite.

Pictures of models and actresses not exactly having their best asset shown. Instead, the photographer has zoomed in on their thighs and buttocks, exposing unsightly patches of cellulite.

Well nobody wants it, but the truth is, women pack twice as many fats cells in their buttocks and thigh area as do men - and it is not related to having too much fat, but the fat cells stretching due to too much fluid. So obesity isn't the cause of cellulite!

Your BMI can be right on target, but it still won't help. A change in diet is in order: less protein, drinking lots of water - and, most importantly, exercise for cellulite to help strengthen the connective tissue. Avoid excessive amounts of spices and salt along with protein, so the body doesn't retain fluid and damage the breakdown of amino acids.

Too much protein in the skin tissue also means an increase of water in the skin, which is not exactly helping your cellulite reduction efforts. So reconsider that high protein diet, or the shake you may be drinking, and use the size of your fist to measure meat portions. Remember, extra water stretches the tissue.

We still need protein in our diet, and it is better to not substitute meats. Zero amount of body fat means you are in a serious condition, and it may become fatal (that means you could die), due to anorexia. Eat in moderation of your size; also, physical activity is very important. The possibility that you're still holding on to your eating habits as a child might be a factor - take a look at your mom or sister. Although cellulite isn't a hereditary condition passed down by genes, the conditioning for it comes with how you learned your diet.

If you are on the Pill, you are leaving yourself wide open for cellulite. The Pill controls your natural hormonal functions, which may give you the convenience of being almost 100% pregnancy free, but is almost good enough? And is 'almost good enough' a good justification for your complete hormone system to be in chaos, which makes your body hold fluid? Bottom line, the Pill is causing you to gain weight and retain more water in your body.

Detoxing the body and making a proper diet will flush out any extra water. Try cutting out soda and drink water with a slice of lemon. This is a great diuretic.

Cellulite is only a visible patch of subcutaneous fat cells. Our fat cells and connective issue remind me of a Belgium waffle. Just add the syrup and the waffle absorbs it. In time, the the waffle is no longer firm - and sagging begins unevenly.
